Breastpumps:

 

In most cases, with a breastpump, you get what you pay for.  The more expensive double-electric pumps are the most efficient.  I recommend those if you will have a regular separation from your baby (ie - going back to work or school.)  The two pump companies that I recommend are Ameda and Medela.  Ameda makes the "Purely Yours" pump*.  Medela makes the "Pump in Style."  When I was pumping, I preferred the Ameda pump, but this is a personal decision.  Before purchasing a pump, ask around.  Your breastfeeding friends will usually steer you in the best direction.

 

*The Breastfeeding Center of Manhattan" at Beth Israel Medical Center in NYC sells the "Purely Yours" pump at a great price. However, you do need to pick it up at the Center.  They do not ship.  For more information, call 212 420-2093
